The spirit of the Trade-In-Program is simple: We give you value no other light company
will. And in return, you get a new, World-Class light. At a price nobody can touch.
To us, taking that old light off your hands in partial-trade is the equivalent to a hand
shake. A way of welcoming you to our team. A way of giving back to you. A way of
supporting you in a way others choose not to.
So with that said. Welcome to the resurgence of the Cloud Defensive Trade-In-Program.
And this time, it’s better-executed. Easier. Faster. Limited only to in-stock items.
The process is simple:
1) Buy the Cloud light of your choice. It’ll ship. Fast.
2) You’ll get emailed and you’ll also get a text message with order confirmation. On
that confirmation, you’ll see that you are eligible for the TIP.
3) At your discretion, anytime within 60 days of your purchase, simply print out your
order confirmation email and package that printout with your Trade-In light. Ship
it to Cloud.
4) Cloud receives it. Cloud issues you a partial refund on your order. Within 48hrs.
5) Enjoy your upgraded light, knowing a company finally, truly, has your back.
A few questions answered:
To be clear, if I send you an old piece of junk light, I get a partial refund on a brand new
Cloud light?
Precisely. Because it helps you. It helps us. And because it’s fun.
What are the rules on the light I send in?
Only one rule exists: It has to be a flashlight.
It can be broken.
It can be old.
It can be in 2 pieces. Or 10 pieces.
Condition and functionality of your trade don’t matter.
Does it have to be a weapon mounted light?
No. Worrying about what light is sent in adds too much complexity. We’re not interested
in arguing with people over what is and is not in the spirit of this program. The Trade-In
Program is about you. It’s about doing all we can to pave the road so you can access
our gear as effectively as possible. It’s about the light you get, not the light you send us.
So you don’t care what I send you?
No. We don’t care what you send us. We care what we send you. The Trade-In lights
end up in a big barrel and stored or thrown away. They are not serviceable or valuable.
Most of them in our experience, don’t function correctly. And our goal here is not to
accumulate old lights. That does not further Cloud or you. Our goal here is to get our
lights into your possession. That furthers both of us.
Which Cloud products actually qualify for this program?
Only in-stock flagship-line lights. REIN and EPL for now. This makes it better and faster
for you. If we can’t ship it fast, that’s on us, not you. And our manufacturing realities do
indeed lead to this from time to time.
How the refund amount is determined is it always the same?
Refund amount is always the same but does vary by product line. The common theme
here is simple however: You get value for your old gear. Value no other light company
will give you. Period.

Refund Amounts:
REIN = $100 refund
EPL = $70 refund
How does that refund get to me?
We refund to your payment method. That’s the fastest, lowest-friction way for us to do
this. If that’s not possible, we can Paypal, Venmo or even mail you a check. We do right
by you in all scenarios.
What is the “nope” criteria? (If someone sends in junk or nothing at all)?
Criteria is simple: If you’re eligible for the program, if you send us any light for a trade.
And if you provide your order number with that shipment – you get a partial refund per
the policy.
The only way this goes sideways for you: If you don’t send us a light. Or if you don’t
send us your order number. Send it within 60 days and it’s fool-proof for you.
“Nope” = no light provided.
“Nope” = no Order Number provided.
Trade In Program will not apply to active sales that might be going on at time of purchase.
